Ethylene has been used since the ancient Egyptians, who would gash figs in order to stimulate ripening. The ancient Chinese would burn incense in closed rooms to enhance the ripening of pears. In 1864, it was discovered that gas leaks from street lights led to stunting of growth, twisting of plants, and abnormal thickening of stems. In 1901, a Russian scientist named Dimitry Neljubow showed that the active component was ethylene. Sarah Doubt discovered that ethylene stimulated abscission in 1917. It was not until 1934 that Gane reported that plants synthesize ethylene. In 1935, Crocker proposed that ethylene was the plant hormone responsible for fruit ripening as well as senescence of vegetative tissues.

2.  Test report

Ethylene should be used when combustible gas pressure relief valve (decompression table), and the detection of airtightness of the pipeline, the use of gas is strictly prohibited. Switch the gas valve when the action must be slow, no gas should be kept when the cylinder valve closed.

Used cylinders should be retained in accordance with the provisions of the residual pressure of more than 0.05MPa, flammable gas should be retained more than 0.2MPa residual pressure. All kinds of cylinders should be dedicated to the bottle, must be regularly carried out safety inspection.
